Job Description
This candidate will be working alongside the front office Bank Loan and Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) portfolio managers and team as they manage and grow Allstate Investment Management Company’s (AIMCO) external facing CLO business. As our business grows, information management workstreams increase in both frequency and complexity. The candidate will play a lead role managing those workstreams between AIMCO, third parties and investors. The candidate will also support various trading initiatives for the Bank Loan and CLO desks. Our process is very team-oriented, with the analysts interacting with each other and the portfolio managers on a continual basis. As such, the ability to work well in a team setting is critical. The ultimate goal for this role is to support platform growth while delivering the best possible results for our clients.Key Responsibilities:
CLO performance/analytics/risk reporting
- Maintain internal databases tracking performance of existing CLO portfolios. This involves analyzing quantitative and qualitative factors influencing CLO performance, performing cash flow modeling and portfolio analytics.
- Coordinate and update internal reports for various risk, accounting and planning functions.
Leveraged Loan new issue/secondary trading assistance
- Coordinate loan new issuance with portfolio managers and analysts including communicating with sell side on deal details/book color, etc.
CLO new issue structuring and CLO tranche investments
- Assist the CLO portfolio manager with cash flow modeling/analyzing existing and prospective third-party CLO tranche investments.
- Make trade recommendations on CLO tranche investments.
- Assist the Structured portfolio manager on new issue CLO structures with the syndication banks.
Communicating with third parties, investors and banks
- Maintain and update AIMCO platform presentations for communication to various third parties, including investors and banks.
- Assume lead role fulfilling investor information requests and completing DDQs.
- Maintain log of investor interactions.
Monitor/verify trustee reports
- Assist with post-investment period portfolio management and compliance.
- Monitor the accuracy of fund administration by the Trustee and Operations team.
- Work with middle office, trustees and investment banks on warehousing process for new AIMCO CLOs.
- Coordinate with middle office to validate monthly trustee numbers (par value, etc.) and the quarterly payment reports.
- Daily opportunities to learn directly from our senior investment professionals.
- Contribute to the improvement of the overall investment process by continually exploring new ideas, processes and technologies that will benefit the group.
Education And Experience
- 2-4 years of experience, preferably CLO-related (rating agency, sell-side desk, Big 4 accounting firm, etc.)
- Bachelors degree from a four-year university.
- A degree in Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or other business-related discipline is preferred but not required.
- Investment banking and/or credit training a plus.
- Progress towards a CFA designation preferred.
Job Qualifications
- General understanding of capital markets and an intellectual curiosity as it relates to quantitative methods, finance, economics and market cycles.
- Ability to perform tasks and achieve results independently and as part of a team, consistently meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple assignments effectively in a dynamic work environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across a wide variety of constituents.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products and experience with Intex and Bloomberg preferred.

Compensation offered for this role is $110,000.00 - 158,750.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
