Together.The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for day-to-day accounts payable functions. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Accounting and Accounts Payable and must be a self-starter and independent, detail-oriented team member. This team member is responsible for ensuring that all vendor invoices are paid in a timely manner. This position will also review employee expense reports to ensure timely and accurate processing of expenses and, compliance with company policies and procedures.Job Duties/Responsibilities:<ul><li>Process and review accounts payable transactions for proper coding and approvals;</li><li>Reconciles vendor statements and research and correct discrepancies;</li><li>Interfaces with vendors and employees to troubleshoot and resolve accounts payable matters in a timely manner;</li><li>Prepares daily batches of accounts payable invoices for review and ultimate posting by the Sr.  Manager, Accounting and Accounts Payable;</li><li>Process weekly check disbursements for claims and accounts payable for various entities;</li><li>Responsible for following up with department heads on invoice approvals and vendors as necessary.</li><li>Assists with other special projects as needed (audits document request, yearly 1099 reporting for independent contractor); </li><li>Validate expense reports in accordance with Company policy including but not limited to resolving/following up on questionable expenses, ensuring that expenses are current; answer questions on how to use the company’s expense tracking tool; and</li><li>Other responsibilities as assigned by Accounting Management.</li></ul>Job Requirements:Experience:• Required: Minimum 2 years of accounts payable experience including full cycle accounts payableEducation:• Required: Associate’s degree in the field of Accounting, Business or related field of study• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in the Field of Accounting, Business or related field of studySpecialized Skills:• Required:<ul><li>Minimum one year experience in Accounts Payable or Bookkeeping and SAP &amp; Concur (expense reporting)</li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Suite</li><li>Ability to communicate positively, professionally and effectively with others; provide leadership, teach and collaborate with others.</li><li>Effective written and oral communication skills; ability to establish and maintain a constructive relationship with diverse members, management, employees and vendors;</li><li>Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform mathematical calculations and calculate simple statistics correctly</li><li>Reasoning Skills: Ability to prioritize multiple tasks; advanced problem-solving; ability to use advanced reasoning to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and design, implement and manage appropriate resolution.</li><li>Problem-Solving Skills: Effective problem solving, organizational and time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Report Analysis Skills: Comprehend and analyze statistical reports.</li></ul>ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.1.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
