In this role, youll travel across the country to install, test, and optimize the next generation of our license plate recognition (LPR) systems and occupancy camera setups at parking facilities nationwide.This isn’t just a wiring job, we need someone who understands why their work matters, can problem solve on the fly, and takes pride in making things not only functionally sound but also professionally executed. You’ll also work closely with our Hardware R&amp;D teams to influence how our systems evolve to become more capable and easier and faster to install. The work you do will make a direct impact on the success of our facilities and help create a super smooth parking experience for our customers. As an early team member, the processes and standards you develop will help us continue to level up our effectiveness as we grow the organization.This role is ideal for a security technician, field systems installer, or hardware engineer who thrives in dynamic environments and is excited to wear many hats as we build the future of automated parking. This role is not for someone who wants to wear one hat and stay in their comfort zone. There are many businesses that can provide that, AirGarage is not one of them. This position is for someone hungry to grow and learn new things, find creative ways to solve real problems, and actively contribute to building the business.WHAT YOU WILL DO <ul><li>Travel independently (sometimes in teams) to installation sites across the U.S. This is a 100% travel role.</li><li>Install and configure license plate recognition systems, occupancy cameras, and related hardware</li><li>Conduct site surveys to determine optimal device placement and wiring needs</li><li>Pull and terminate low-voltage wiring (Ethernet, coax, power) and ensure secure, weather-resistant connections via conduit and other methods.</li><li>Drill and mount devices on a variety of surfaces (e.g. concrete poles, building facades, parking structures)</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the field (hardware, signal, power, alignment, etc.)</li><li>Collaborate with engineering to suggest product improvements and document field feedback</li><li>Maintain accurate job documentation and update installation records digitally from the field</li></ul>WHAT YOU NEED <ul><li>3+ years of experience in security systems, LPR, CCTV, or low-voltage hardware installation (Licensing would be a big plus!)</li><li>Proficiency with power tools and mounting techniques (impact driver, hammer drill, conduit benders, etc.)</li><li>Experience installing hardware in outdoor and rugged environments (asphalt, poles, garages)</li><li>Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism on-site</li><li>Strong communication skills on and off site (verbal and written)</li><li>Attention to detail and able to uphold high quality standards</li><li>Critical thinking and advanced troubleshooting skills</li><li>Desire to learn and build expertise in new technical domains</li><li>Ability to use a cell phone and laptop to document progress and test installation</li><li>Valid drivers license and reliable transportation</li><li>Must be able to lift 70 lbs, bend down, climb a ladder and reach overhead</li></ul>IMPORTANT NOTE 🚨AirGarage is a remote-first company, but we also value in-person collaboration to strengthen trust and teamwork. Team members should expect ~6 weeks of travel per year for:<ul><li>2–3 full company offsites, “Remote Weeks”</li><li>Lending a hand to support 2 new location launches</li><li>In-person onboarding as well as supporting other onboarding sessions for new team members</li></ul>The rest of the year, team members can work remotely from wherever (US time zones) they’re most comfortable as long as they are performing well in their role.
