The Site Security Systems (Assistant) Manager (SSSM) will be responsible for implementing physical security plans at a potential Airbus Affiliate located in Kinston, NC. The SSAM’s primary role will be to support the Site Security Manager (SSM) by completing assigned managerial tasks and providing oversight and direction of protection of people, processes, and physical assets.
This role is contingent upon obtaining all necessary regulatory approvals and the successful closing of a transaction which will result in establishing a new Airbus Affiliate in Kinston, NC (the “Kinston Affiliate”). The SSSM would be an employee of the Kinston Affiliate.
Primary Responsibilities:
Plan, initiate and supervise site Security Programs: 40%
Ensure compliance of the Kinston Affiliate site with State and Federal legislation and regulatory requirements, including Airport, Transportation Security Administration (Aviation and Transportation Safety Act - ATSA) and CPB (Customs and Border Protection, and with Airbus Corporate directives pertaining to all Airbus affiliates.
Maintain knowledge of current security technology and trends to ensure implementation of products.
Assist the SSM with control of the operational site security budget (Opex and Capex) and in accordance with the NewCo Senior Management and Airbus Americas, Inc. Head of Security Operations directives.
Maintain and ensure contractual compliance and Kinston Affiliate Business Policy in the following services: guarding, surveillance, reception, remote surveillance, security administration, office security services, monitoring activities (anti-intrusion, video, access control system etc.) transport, and aviation & maritime security.
Respond to security incidents, investigate breaches and provide recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities. Recommend improvements in security posture and procedures.
Create and track purchase orders for various security provided items and maintain a database to ensure budget alignment.
Liaise with external security staff (contractors) to ensure compliance, quality and consistency with contracted services that are in line with Airbus Affiliate policies, and local, federal, airport, CBP and TSA requirements.
Understand all relevant contracted security operating reports, including security contractor KPIs as well as ensuring delivery of KPIs with monthly reviews with the SSM.
Develop the appropriate Kinston Affiliate security awareness campaign tailored to address specific needs as directed by the SSM. This can include but is not limited to Workplace Violence Program
Coordinate the Security Vendor’s SOPs and preparedness for catastrophic events and security crises.
Coordinate all activities with the local contracted security services to enhance the overall security product by aligning contingency, protection and intervention plans.
For the Kinston Affiliate site, the SSAM will support the SSM to ensure the consistency and performance of the site security program:
Design/adapt and deploy a security risk management process, adapted to specific operational needs.
Design, deploy and improve a security events management process with local leadership and crisis management teams (site specific and aligned with Airbus affiliate requirements)
Coordinate local emergency and contingency planning exercises. In case of major events/disaster, lead the emergency and contingency first response operations.
While working with the SSM, identify needed security programs that do not exist, or gaps in existing programs that require continual improvement, and work within the Airbus affiliate culture and mutually responsible divisions, develop policy statements, and implement programs.
On a temporary basis, be able to fill in for and assume the duties of the SSM during short absences.
Inherent in all of the requirements listed herein, a thorough understanding of physical security policies and procedures, a physical security-first mindset, sound judgment and an eye toward innovation are understood to be of paramount importance and required for successful completion of job requirements.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
Education:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience (4+years) in law enforcement or security: Required
Knowledge of security systems and technologies (e.g. access controls, CCTV)
Effective, versatile and results-oriented leadership and project management skills
Demonstrated experience conducting business impact analysis and vulnerability assessments for facilities, people, processes and technology
Ability to research and stay current on applicable state/federal laws, industry best practices as it relates to the nuances of each site
Supplier Management
The position requires an extensive knowledge of security systems, local and federal laws as well as TSA, Department of Homeland Security and FAA regulations.
Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):
Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Exceptional skill in gathering, organizing and presenting complex and/or technical information to senior level executives

Experience:
5+ years of equivalent work experience required, to include supporting security programs, Program Management and business continuity planning : Required
3+ years experience in team management : Required
3-5 years of military, state or federal law enforcement or equivalent civilian experience : desired

Job Dimensions, Contributions to Success:
The Site Security Assistant Manager will directly influence the security posture of the Kinston Affiliate, including their compliance with applicable regulation and laws, as well as applicable Airbus standards. A failure in executing the mission of the Site Security Assistant Manager would result in improper assessment of security risks, erroneous decisions regarding implementation of physical security procedures with potential impact on the business.
The Site Security Assistant Manager shall use calm and professionalism to handle stressful situations involving Airbus and non-Airbus individuals in all situations, in accordance with HR policy and applicable laws. They will have access to sensitive information related to security incidents and shall handle this information with tact, discretion and in the best interest of the Kinston Affiliate

Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visit, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
