Job Description:

Job Summary: Assemble, calibrate and test mechanical component assemblies from start to finish. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

Electronics:  60%

  • Execute QA testing using voltmeters, o-scope or other tools as necessary.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve corrective maintenance issues as they arise, including new or production

  • units.

  • Travel to customer sites as necessary to identify and resolve electrical/electronic issues.

  • Provide periodic electrical/electronic customer maintenance training.

  • Work with engineering to convey discovered issues so designs can be updated.

  • Become an area expert in project worked on so others can learn from you.

  • Document Electrical/Electronic knowledge (i.e. assembly docs.) to reduce tribal knowledge.

  • Providing feedback to engineering to establish quality standards as appropriate.

  • Take proactive steps to implement processes and procedures to improve quality and workflow. 

  • Building circuits boards from the ground up using schematics provided.

Electrical: 30%

  • Execute wiring assembly of modular, compact UAS based on schematics provided by Engineering.

  • Support on boarding of new assemblers or technicians in roles and responsibilities as requested.

  • Creating high quality crimps and soldering.

  • Devise electrical circuit or small interface components for discrete I/O and analog signals using readily available electrical components.

  • Review and provide feedback to engineering on their electrical designs based on production and maintenance/serviceability requirements.

  • With engineering guidance, document cabling and wire layouts using CAD tools such as Altium, AutoCAD, Visio, and/or SolidWorks.

  • Support Engineering in the development and production of electrical design documentation.

  • Support the development and implementation of standardized quality processes

  • Support Engineering in the development and production of electrical test fixtures and equipment.

  • Prep/Assembly and testing of all electrical circuit designs.

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • Minimum of six (6) years related aviation electrical experience

  • Experience to repair and install electronic devices.

  • A demonstrated understanding of AC/DC electrical circuits.

Preferred

  • Minimum of three (3) years of Robotics electrical assembly experience

  • Mechanical experience

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. daily

  • Speaking:  able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. daily

  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. daily

  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. daily

  • Lifting:  able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. daily

  • Pushing / Pulling:  able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. daily

  • Sitting:  able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer. daily

  • Squatting / Kneeling:  able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.

  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor. daily

  • Travel:  able to travel independently and at short notice. daily

  • Personal Protective Equipment required:  Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site

  • Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
