Job Description:
Airbus Helicopters is looking for an Export Compliance Specialist to join our Trade Compliance department based in Grand Prairie, TX.
Meet the Team:
You will be part of a team that supports all tasks related to export compliance record keeping and shipping documentation required to comply with U.S. Export Regulations.

Your Challenges:
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Documentation/shipping: 65%
Creation of export invoices, shipper’s letters of instruction, bills of lading and other documents required to comply with U.S. export requirements and/or the foreign country’s import requirements.
Reviews all export processes, policies and systems related to shipping on an ongoing basis and recommends improvements or changes to the Sr. Director, Export Compliance, as needed or appropriate.
Ensures proper record keeping of export documentation for the period required by applicable U.S. law.
Executes background checks and due diligence screenings for customers, partners, subcontractors, employees, etc.
2. Logistics and File Maintenance: 15%
Manage clearance issues with carrier/forwarders and internal clients.
Identify and report any problems or delays to Sr. Director, Export Compliance.
File maintenance, paperwork and keep in line in the event of audits.
Review files regularly for completeness of documentation and accuracy.
3. Classification and Screening: 10%
Determines the U.S. export classifications of hardware, software, and other items within the jurisdiction of the EAR or ITAR, whichever is applicable.
Initiates communications with manufacturers, suppliers, and/or company personnel to obtain the information necessary to determine the correct export classifications.
Screening of parties to the transaction through various tools and reporting to team leader should due diligence background checks come back negative.
4. Licensing: 10%
Assist in export licensing, training on various export compliance related topics as needed (ITAR, EAR, etc.).

Your Boarding Pass:
2 years’ experience in shipping and receiving and/or purchasing in an office environment.
10% Domestic travel involved
US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license)
Demonstrated ability to use personal computer and associated software.
Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers and suppliers
Microsoft Office technical capability
Familiarity with ACE software
SAP experience and Integration Point experience preferred
OCR experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
Onsite:100 %
Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.
Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
