The Learning Experience (LX) team plays a critical role in this mission—designing meaningful, actionable, and best-in-class learning content and experiences for hosts at every stage of their journey. We’re seeking a seasoned and imaginative LX Content Designer to create scaled educational content that inspires and empowers hosts across Homes, Services, and Experiences—from first-timers to Superhosts. Youll blend instructional design, behavioral science, and deep production expertise to deliver engaging, actionable content across multiple formats—from in-product education and toolkits, to workshops, short-form videos, and interactive learning experiences. Reporting to the Director of Host Development, you’re a curious, hands-on educational creator —equally comfortable discussing strategy, designing early concepts, and executing through to final polish. If you are fascinated with how people learn, and care deeply about designing experiences that drive real behavior change, we’d love to meet you. <h3>A Typical Day: </h3> <ul> <li>Lead the design and execution of scalable learning experiences for Airbnb Hosts across a variety of formats, including in-product education, workshops, toolkits, videos, interactive content, assessments, articles, and live events.</li> <li>Work closely with LX leads to transform strategic briefs into tangible solutions and clear production plans that drive progress from concept to execution with rigor and clarity.</li> <li>Apply your multidisciplinary design expertise to all stages of creative production, from bringing early ideas to life with low-fidelity sketches and prototypes through to final delivery of polished, high-quality assets. </li> <li>Deliver educational content that is insight-driven, beautifully crafted, and aligned with Airbnb’s brand and learning standards.</li> <li>Collaborate closely with LX strategy and production leads, the host community, and cross-functional partners in product, marketing, legal, and policy.</li> <li>Ensure all educational experiences meet standards for brand consistency, instructional quality, and accessibility for a global audience.</li> <li>Design with a deep understanding of how people learn—creating experiences that engage, motivate, and drive meaningful action. Background in behavioral or learning sciences is a plus. </li> <li>Lead projects through the full development lifecycle—setting timelines, ensuring quality, and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders for successful implementation.</li> <li>Continuously inspire and inform our team of new tools, platforms and opportunities for innovative learning and instruction at scale.</li> </ul> <h3>Your Expertise:</h3> <ul> <li>10+ years of experience in instructional design, learning experience design, or educational content creation, preferably in tech, product, or media settings.</li> <li>Skilled in multiple instructional disciplines, including curriculum design, storytelling, instructional video, short-format content, visual design, peer learning, and/or interactive experience design. </li> <li>Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and engaging learning content.</li> <li>Demonstrated expertise developing and delivering learning experiences across diverse formats and channels—live, digital, and in-product.</li> <li>Proficient in tools such as Figma, Keynote, video editing software, UX design platforms and CMS/LMS systems; familiarity with generative AI tools for learning is a plus. </li> <li>Proven track record of developing and leading learning programs that drive measurable impact.</li> <li>Experience creating scaled educational programs for global audiences, with awareness and sensitivity to cultural, regional, and generational differences.</li> <li>History of delivering premium-quality creative work, with experience collaborating with external creative partners such as editors, videographers, producers, and localization teams.</li> <li>Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.</li> <li>Curious, empathetic, and passionate about Airbnb’s mission, with a deep respect for and understanding of the Host community.</li> <li>Passion for Airbnb’s brand, mission, and core values.</li> </ul> A current portfolio of work is required for each applicant.
