Accounting background and knowledge preferred.<br /><br />LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: CPC-A preferred.<br /><br />ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<br />1. Receives all RAC letters, complex letters, pre-pay letters, demand letters, and all correspondence from Palmetto and other 3rd party payers for all facilities within the Wake Medical Center Network. Date stamps and initials correspondence.<br />2. Sorts letters based on priority and time factors required for response (receipt within 30 days, 45 days, etc.) and scans into audit database. Completes workflow screens within audit database to track progress of requested documents.<br />3. Gathers billing data to populate audit database and spreadsheets (if needed) for each letter type.<br />4. Updates audit database ensuring correct data is entered and verifies data through reporting tools available within software.<br />5. Reads and retrieves UBs, HCFAs, EOBs, and itemized bills relating to data requested and appends such information as necessary into audit database.<br />6. Scans and sends Additional Documentation Request letters to upper management.<br />7. Schedules meetings for team as needed to get updates on relevant issues and coordinates all aspects of the RAC program with corresponding departments.<br />8. Assists with maintenance/updates to audit tracking software database.<br />9. Tracks audits requested by RAC contractor and other payers to ensure documentation is sent out timely. Assists in vendor audit tool with tracking responses, appeals, overpayments and underpayments, and financial impact on organization.<br />10. Maintains integrity and confidentiality of all hospital and patient information.<br />11. Maintains and manages access to payor websites for enterprise following security guidelines.<br />12. Adheres to general enterprise standards of conduct and promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, inter personal relationships, and team building.<br />13.
