Schedule Details/Additional Information:
- Work Schedule: Full-time, exempt position
- Typical Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- On-Call Requirements: Rotational on-call responsibilities for emergency imaging support and department oversight
- Weekends/Holidays: Occasional weekend or holiday presence may be required based on operational needs or project deadlines
- Flexibility: Schedule flexibility may be required for meetings, staff coverage, or special initiatives
- Location: On-site leadership presence required; occasional remote work may be approved based on departmental needs and administrative tasks
- Coordinates and facilitates a system approach to common imaging functions; specific initiatives include infrastructure, collaborative operations, compliance, medical staff partnerships, strategic planning, capital budget coordination, freestanding imaging strategy, Radiation Safety Coordination, Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Transcription and cost reduction initiatives.
- Coordinates an ongoing Quality Assurance Program to ensure a high level of patient care is being delivered.
- Ensures imaging services are in compliance with The Joint Commission and other regulatory and compliance standards.
- Monitors fees charged to patients for services, including evaluating the pricing and cost structure to ensure alignment with departmental guidelines.
- Ensures implementation of the equipment service program and maintains proper operations of imaging equipment. Directs capital equipment planning, purchasing and maintenance for imaging services.
- Coordinates all maintenance agreements with appropriate system functions to control costs, service and compliance with established market and/or system guidelines.
- Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.
- Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
- Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organizations Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organizations business.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- None Required.
Education Required:
- Bachelors Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Health Care Administration or related field.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 7 years of experience in a large, complex radiology department with multiple modalities to include Nuclear Medicine. Includes 3 years of management experience in managing staff, budgets and multiple modalities at the manager/director level.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of various imaging modalities, health care administration and general business principles.
- Knowledge and demonstrated abilities in dealing with human resource management issues, financial management as well as a thorough knowledge and understanding of radiologic service areas and operations.
- Strong decision making and critical thinking skills.
- Significant successful high-level interaction with medical staff.
- Strong skills in successfully managing multiple units.
- Strong skills in diplomacy and conflict resolution at various levels within the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of leadership and staff.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) or similar products.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to operate all equipment essential in performing the job.
- Occasionally will lift up to 10 lbs.
- Must be able to sit for 50% of the workday and stand or walk for 50%.
- May occasionally be exposed to radiation.
