Here, you will make an impact by:<ul><li>Providing Quality leadership and support to high priority rework operations in the Aerospace &amp; Defense (A&amp;D) Vertical on-site at the customer in Mobile, Alabama.</li><li>Being a Team member representing quality and assuring quality on product teams for assigned A&amp;D products; Leading or contributing to quality improvement projects to reduce costs and reduce customer complaints</li><li>Assessing and validating product rework operations of third-party staff; contributing by performing rework operations</li><li>Assuring compliance to internal procedures and external customer requirements and regulations</li><li>Leading CAPA, Risk Management, Quality Review Boards, Quality at the Source and Customer Quality Index initiatives and deployment</li><li>Leading deployment of Statistical Process Control methodology to control Key Process Indicators</li><li>Using statistical techniques to create sampling plans and execute data analysis</li><li>Coaching on Environmental Control expectations and plans to reduce FOD</li><li>Representing the customer, evaluating customer complaints and issues, samples and trends, and determining the necessary action plans</li><li>Interacting with and supporting our plant manufacturing functions. Traveling to St. Paul and manufacturing locations as necessary</li><li>Helping to drive and foster a quality environment and mindset throughout the business</li><li>Working and interacting significantly with other cross functional team members (plant manufacturing, supply chain, lab, MTD, quality assurance, quality control, etc.).</li><li>Participating in customer audits as needed to support the site Quality Manager and Quality Systems Engineer</li></ul>Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelors Degree or higher in a science, engineering (mechanical engineer, chemical engineer, industrial engineer, statistics, etc) or technical discipline (completed and verified prior to start) </li><li>Three (3) year of combined experience working in a product, quality, engineering, or six sigma in a private, public, government or military environment </li></ul>Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:<ul><li>Minimum of three (3) years of combined experience working in a product, quality, engineering, microbiology, and/or lab/technical function, with previous experience leading quality efforts in a manufacturing plant environment</li><li>Strong demonstrated leadership ability and the ability to lead teams, drive change, and get things done</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize</li><li>Test method development and validation experience along with Statistical knowledge and practice (Gage R&amp;R Studies, SPC and Process Capability, Sampling Plans, Designed Experiments, ANOVA and Regression, Process and Product Understanding (PPU), and Lean Manufacturing)</li><li>The ability to identify opportunities for improvement and lead change drawing from your Six Sigma Experience, and/or New product development (NPI) project experience</li><li>Experience deploying industry specific quality system requirements beyond ISO9001with knowledge of AS9100 and experience working in an aerospace regulated environment</li><li>Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints</li></ul>Work location:<ul><li>Remote - Alabama</li></ul>Travel: May include up to 10% domesticRelocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being 3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
