Here, you will make an impact by:<ul><li>Successfully complete certification training on Scott SCBA products, including the use of specific tools and test equipment</li><li>Demonstrate competency in the general understanding and usage of technical manuals, drawings, and processes</li><li>Demonstrate competency in the selection and usage of standard hand and power tools</li><li>Conduct evaluations and root cause analysis of returned products to determine corrective actions and appropriate parts needed repairs</li><li>Operate in a fast-paced environment with safety of personnel and equipment on a regular basis</li><li>Demonstrate Job Safety Analysis while performing daily tasks within the Service Center</li><li>Effectively communicate with other team members and supervisory personnel on repair projects and potential issues</li><li>Effectively communicate, coordinate, and process any purchase orders needed with the factory for replacement parts</li><li>Ability to maintain and control effective inventory management on a daily basis</li><li>Lifting items or products in excess of 25 lbs. on a regular basis</li></ul>Your Skills and Expertise  To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:<ul><li>High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution</li><li>One year of experience with hydraulics, mechanical design, air supplied systems, compressors, and/or small engines in a private, public, government or military environment</li><li>Current, valid Driver’s License</li></ul>Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:<ul><li>Associates degree or higher in a mechanical or technical discipline</li><li>3M/Scott Certified SCBA Technician II</li><li>Three years of experience or knowledge on hydraulics, mechanical design, air supplied systems, compressors, and small engines</li><li>Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and air supplied tools</li></ul>Work location: Long Island, New YorkTravel: May include up to 25% domesticMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being 3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
