As a Staff Software Engineer on the cloud team, you will play a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge, cloud-based applications on AWS that transform how 10x Genomics data is processed, visualized, and analyzed. You will collaborate with computational biologists, scientists, infrastructure teams, other development teams, and our manufacturing teams. The solutions you build will be used globally by thousands of scientists and research labs processing petabytes of genomics data. What you will be doing <ul> <li>Design, build, test, and ship AWS cloud-based solutions.</li> <li>Work with scientists, hardware, product management, design, and other software teams to shape new features and services.</li> <li>Develop scalable systems for efficiently managing petabytes of genomic and image data.</li> <li>Monitor infrastructure and applications for uptime and resource utilization, identify performance bottlenecks, troubleshoot and mitigate system issues, and develop solutions to improve reliability and performance.</li> </ul> Minimum Requirements <ul> <li>Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline and 4 years of software development OR 6 years of professional experience building software.</li> <li>Experience with backend systems (REST APIs, backend services, relational database systems).</li> <li>Experience with cloud environment and services (e.g. AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Grafana)</li> </ul> Preferred skills and experience <ul> <li>Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals (e.g. data structures, space and time complexity)</li> <li>Deep understanding of testing, continuous integration, deployments and live site monitoring.</li> <li>Experience with Postgres, Go, Typescript.</li> <li>Willingness to solve problems irrespective of where it is in the tech stack.</li> <li>Proficiency in experimenting with and applying new AI technologies in day-to-day work.</li> <li>A background in biology is not required, but curiosity and scientific interest is.</li> </ul><div>Below is the U.S. base pay range for this full-time position.
