A Brief OverviewThis position will involve designing, planning and leading projects that improve business processes and business effectiveness through development, maintenance, and deployment of functionality related to US LBM and its operating companies Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application. Responsible for designing, coding and testing complex computer programs and/or systems on a regular basis in accordance with established standards to deliver information essential for management decision support and daily operations. This position requires critical judgment, a high level of initiative, a wide degree of creativity and complex reasoning to solve department-level and company-wide issues. Responsibilities include participating in the design, development, customization, implementation, training, and support efforts of Companys ERP solutions.
What you will do
- Provide competent consultative advice and counsel to management on software matters relating to IT systems, the ERP system, IT-related operational best practices, inventory and other business process-related areas.
- Support existing Company’s operating companies and recent acquisitions in the conversion to the ERP system following the post-implementation; ensure ERP systems are functioning correct and training is complete.
- Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
- Design and develop software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
- Consult with staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements and resolve customer problems.
- Analyze information to determine, recommend and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system.
- Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures.
- Direct software programming and development of documentation.
- Consult with other departments on project status, proposals and technical issues such as software system design and maintenance.
- Perform maintenance on software system.
- Coordinate installation of software system.
- Monitor the function of equipment to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.
- Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
- Confer with data processing and project managers to obtain information on limitations and capabilities for data processing projects.
- Prepare reports and correspondence concerning project specifications, activities and status.
- Evaluate factors such as reporting formats required, cost constraints, and need for security restrictions to determine hardware configuration.
- Train users to use new or modified equipment.
- Specify power supply requirements and configuration.
- Perform all required tasks in support of department goals and objectives.
- Enhances personal development by participating and attending relevant training opportunities and forums.

Education Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Software or related discipline required.
Experience Qualifications
- 4 years of experience as a software designer or related computer application professional with an understanding of information technology standards, procedures, and best practices required.
- Previous experience working with a wide range of modules within an ERP application required.
- Experience working in a team environment and ability to work independently and set priorities required.
- Demonstrated experience leading medium to large-scale projects required.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work with internal and external customers and understand and assess their needs, processes, and functions in order to document requirements, recommendations, estimates, schedules and system information in a clear and concise manner meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrated mastery of relational databases including SQL Server.
- Excellent interpersonal as well as oral and written communication skills.
