The pay range is $93,800.00 - $168,800.00

About the job:
As a Senior Product Designer within our Guest Experience team, your mission is to deliver best-in-class digital shopping experiences for our guests by leveraging and developing frameworks for UX sprints (i.e., discovery, co-creation, future-visioning) and delivering both functional proof of concepts and in-market launches in partnership with product, engineering, and other cross-functional peers and leaders. In this role, you will focus on deeply understanding the human need, changes in consumer trend and behavior, business opportunity, and Target’s brand potential to develop actionable, multi-horizon strategies for a small portfolio of new experiences. You will bring meaningful guest journeys and experiences to life by thinking holistically, pragmatically, and through the lens of innovation while setting a high bar for craft and quality.
You understand guest needs, omni-channel retail, and the role that UX plays in driving engagement, loyalty, delight, and trust while delivering business results. You are proactive, curious, ask questions, and are driven to connect the dots. You will use human-centered design thinking, service design, and tried-and-true design craft principles to understand and prioritize guest needs, co-develop near and long-term design strategies, and deliver a best-in-class guest experience for Target. You are a skilled story-teller, capable of explaining design recommendations to non-design stakeholders, and are comfortable utilizing data and insights to advocate for the human need, while interfacing with multiple levels of executive leadership including Sr Managers, Directors, and Senior Directors when needed.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to UX strategy and vision for product experiences across digital platforms – influencing investment, collaborations, and the balance of new vs. Iteration
Participate in UX sprints for discovery, co-creation, future-visioning, and functional proof of concept delivery for emerging experiences in partnership with product, engineering, and other cross-functional peers and leaders
Investigate new opportunities using both qualitative and quantitative research methods and contribute to the delivery of artifacts leveraging design strategy and service design methods — such as journey maps, service design
blueprints, and storyboards
Create design deliverables representative of the design process phase – such as journey maps, wireframes, user flows, UI design and prototypes
Hold design work to a high standard of craft, including accessibility, user research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design
Contribute to a culture of human-centered practice within UX, product, and engineering teams
Navigate complexity and ambiguity delivering impact for guests and the business
About you:
You’re an experienced product designer with 4+ years of relevant product design work
Intermediate skills in UX and product design, as well as structuring and planning work, and owning the design process
Skilled and successful at the intersection of design strategy, scaled solutions, and craft
Proficiency in in UX, product, and service design, as well as structuring and planning work, and owning the design process
Experienced in design strategy and service design methods (i.e., co-creation sprints)
Proficient in product design and prototyping tools (i.e., in Figma)
Demonstrate strategic problem-solving, systems thinking, and collaboration skills
You lean into complex problems, challenge the status quo, and seek to understand the ‘why’ behind human behavior and their mindsets
Proven ability to effectively use data and insights to set your direction and communicate your approach
You value outcomes and strive toward design that is welcoming, inspiring, and clear
You understand how design connects to, serves, and improves business outcomes
