This role requires deep technical expertise in cloud-native architectures, migration methodologies, and enterprise application landscapes, along with the leadership ability to guide engineering teams and influence stakeholders across IT, business, and operations. In this role you will also lead Enterprise Architecture and chair the Architecture Review Board.This role will focus on application migration, design and oversight of our target cloud architecture. Your role will encompass planning and implementing migration strategies that are not only aligned with business goals but also scalable, secure, and cost-effective. Occasionally you may be required to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as business or team meetings, training and culture events.We’ll depend on you to:<ul><li>Define and own application migration roadmaps for enterprise portfolios.</li><li>Assess existing applications to determine optimal migration approaches (rehost, replatform, refactor, retire, replace).</li><li>Architect hybrid and cloud-native solutions ensuring scalability, performance, and security.</li><li>Lead, architect, and review technological solutions that meet business requirements and deliver business value through modern software design, development, and delivery.</li><li>Drive, support and influence cloud strategies, application architecture and migration roadmaps while ensuring alignment with internal technical teams and business stakeholders.</li><li>Lead discovery, assessment, and dependency mapping of application landscapes.</li><li>Partner with application owners and development teams to adapt workloads for the cloud.</li><li>Work with teams to ensure automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD practices for repeatable efficient migrations.</li><li>Provide guidance and direction to project teams to ensure security, compliance, and governance requirements are met for migrated applications.</li><li>Collaborate with internal resources and third-party vendors to resolve issues and to understand the causes and provide solutions.</li><li>Establish monitoring and performance baselines before and after migration.</li><li>Work closely with engineering, security, finance (FinOps), and business stakeholders to align migration outcomes with strategic goals.</li><li>Mentor cloud engineers and solution architects on best practices for migration and cloud adoption.</li><li>Act as a subject matter expert in cloud transformation programs.</li><li>Maintain hands-on technical knowledge of AWS Service, cloud design principals and application architectures.</li><li>Enterprise Architect for SYF which will work with teams to develop and maintain the EA strategy, roadmap and standards that align with business goal.</li><li>Chair the Architecture Review Board and facilitate cross-domain architectural reviews ensuring ARB outcomes are transparent, documented and traceable to business and technical strategy.</li><li>Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.</li></ul>Qualification/Requirements:<ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.</li><li>10+ years in IT architecture, infrastructure, or application development.</li><li>3+ years designing and implementing cloud solutions (AWS).</li><li>Proven track record leading enterprise-scale application migration projects.</li><li>Experience with containerization, microservices, and DevOps practices.</li><li>Expert in AWS services: EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Terraform.</li><li>Proficiency with migration and modernization patterns.</li><li>Proven understanding of cloud computing and DevOps fundamentals.</li><li>Understanding of networking, security, IAM, and compliance in the cloud.</li><li>Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders.</li></ul>Desired Characteristics:<ul><li>Knowledge of databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL).</li><li>Experience in the Financial industry</li><li>AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.</li><li>AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Security, or Database Specialty.</li><li>Experience with other CSP provider such as Azure, GCP, and Oracle.</li></ul>Grade/Level: 14The salary range for this position is 170,000.00 -
