Risk is responsible for independently assessing, quantifying, and overseeing risks &amp; providing effective challenge. Risk serves as Synchrony’s Second Line of Defense.   Overall, Risk Team oversees and manages the Risk Program to support the business in anticipating and addressing risks, issues and challenges. Results are consistent with the respective strategic uses and complying with related overall risk, risk testing policies, standards, procedures as well as regulations. Our Risk organization consists of 4 pillars: Compliance, Credit &amp; Financial Risk, Enterprise Risk and Operational Risk. Each of the pillars play a vital role in managing Risk and supports the business in anticipating and addressing risks, issues, and challenges.  Role Summary/Purpose: The Manager, AML Analytics, will be responsible for growing and executing the adoption of full-file testing and monitoring within BSA / AML / OFAC programs. This individual will work directly with stakeholders from Compliance to design and build analytical tools and techniques that will help the Risk organization proactively identify risks and monitor them on an automated basis. Furthermore, this individual will be a key partner to senior leadership across Compliance, Risk, Technology, and Business units, providing data-driven insights to mitigate financial crime risk. This role will report directly to the VP, Enterprise Risk Analytics.Key Responsibilities: <ul><li>Analyze complex data sets from a variety of data sources, and develop full-file testing and monitoring to support compliance with BSA / AML / OFAC</li><li>Validate data feeds from the source system including analysis of the codes to ensure all required data is sent for AML Transaction Monitoring and Customer Risk Ratings</li><li>Build and execute framework for ongoing monitoring to validate accuracy and completeness of AML related data feeds</li><li>Develop full file testing and validation for QA / QC within the AML Sanctions and Transaction Monitoring programs</li><li>Lead independent Risk reviews of 1st line surveillance controls that use SAS/Python codes to monitor for Beneficial Owner / Know Your Customer deficiencies</li><li>Use data and analytics to help support the closure of critical, time-sensitive projects such as regulatory requests and matters requiring attention (MRA)</li><li>Build exception reporting to identify root cause for filtered data from AML monitoring systems</li><li>Partner with the India Risk Analytics Team on optimal, efficient, and quick analytical solutions to business problems</li><li>Develop, present, and explain the value and vision of proposed solutions to cross-business senior leaders and stakeholders</li><li>Performs special projects regarding Bank compliance activities which may require research and analysis, including presentation to senior compliance leadership.</li><li>Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned</li></ul>Required Skills/Knowledge:<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree with 2-4 years’ experience in a consumer credit/risk analytics role or in lieu of Bachelor’s degree, 4-6+ years’ experience in consumer credit/risk analytics role</li><li>2+ years’ hands-on experience with one or more data analytics tools including Python, R, SAS, and SQL, SPARK and Hadoop</li><li>Strong written/oral communication skills.</li><li>Proven ability to deliver Analytical solutions for Business problems.</li></ul>Desired Skills/Knowledge:<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM related or Business field.</li><li>MBA or Master’s degree in a STEM field.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, organize work flow and timelines.</li><li>Experience in automation in command line environment, or SAS or Python</li><li>Experience with Tableau or other Visual Analytics tool such as PowerBI or SAS VIYA</li><li>Experience working with data related to Compliance Oversight, particularly Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) programs</li><li>Working knowledge and experience with GenAI in workspace</li><li>Elevated aptitude in deciphering and interpreting analytical documentation and criteria and the ability to translate that into independently created logic.</li><li>Experience with Tableau or other Visual Analytics tool such as PowerBI or SAS VIYA</li><li>Experience working alongside and in unison with off-shore teams</li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills with impact and influence</li><li>Excellent communication skills with impact and influence.</li><li>Commercially effective and collaborative across teams and functions.</li><li>Intermediate EXCEL skill-set</li></ul>Eligibility Criteria:Bachelor’s Degree with 2-4 years’ experience in a consumer credit/risk analytics role or in lieu of Bachelor’s degree, 4-6+ years’ experience in consumer credit/risk analytics roleWork Timings:This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally).
