As a Payroll OpsLead, you will be responsible for managing a team of payroll clerks, overseeing end-to-end payroll processing, and improving payroll workflows. You will play a critical role in ensuring thousands of workers are paid accurately and on time each week.</p> <p>This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Payroll Clerk Lead will work out of our Monterrey, Mexico office and report to the <strong>Head of Payroll Ops</strong>.</p> <h3>Responsibilities</h3> <ul> <li>Lead a team of Payroll Clerks, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure smooth payroll operations.</li> <li>Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including intake of time cards, payroll statement generation, and system uploads.</li> <li>Ensure accuracy and compliance with payroll regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.</li> <li>Review and validate payroll data to minimize errors and discrepancies before processing.</li> <li>Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.</li> <li>Maintain payroll records, update employee data (e.g., job title changes, exemptions, deductions), and generate payroll reports.</li> <li>Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Payroll Product and GTM teams, on payroll-related projects.</li> </ul> <h3>Skillset &amp; Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li><strong>2+ years of payroll processing experience</strong>, with at least <strong>1 year in a leadership or senior payroll role</strong></li> <li>Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax deductions, and compliance requirements</li> <li>Excellent attention to detail, organization, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively</li> <li>Strong written and verbal <strong>English communication skills</strong></li> <li>High degree of technical literacy, with <strong>expertise in spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets)</strong></li> <li>Experience working with payroll software and systems</li> <li>Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve payroll discrepancies efficiently</li> <li>Ability to lead and mentor a team while maintaining a hands-on approach to payroll processing</li> </ul><div><p><span><em>Diversity is more than a commitment at Seso, it is the foundation of what we do.
