About Modern Animal: Modern Animal is reimagining veterinary care and is looking for a Lead Growth Engineer to build upon Modern Animal’s platform, focusing on growth initiatives and scalable systems to expand the boundaries of what’s possible in pet healthcare.

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Growth Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, strategic thinking, and leadership skills. You will lead growth engineering initiatives, driving user acquisition, engagement, and retention through innovative engineering solutions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and mentor a team of growth engineers, ensuring best practices in coding, architecture, and agile methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality web applications using React, JavaScript, and other modern frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable and robust systems.
  • Analyze user data and feedback to identify opportunities for product improvements and growth.
  • Design, test, and optimize A/B experiments to drive user acquisition and retention.
  • Implement tracking and analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of growth initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our growth strategy.
  • Scope and prioritize projects based on business and customer impact.
  • Define clear project requirements and success criteria.
  • Coordinate with product managers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on goals and deliverables.

Why You’d be a Great Fit:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on web technologies.
  • Proficiency in React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related technologies.
  • Proven track record of leading growth initiatives and successfully driving user growth.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with backend technologies such as Node.js, Python, or Ruby on Rails.
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
  • Experience with growth hacking tools and methodologies.
  • Understanding of SEO, SEM, and digital marketing principles.

The pay range for this position is $165,000 - $215,000 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and equity grant units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the California Pay Transparency Act. Base pay information is based on geographic location.
