The Strategic Partnership (SPT) team engages in the largest and most complex sales opportunities at Microsoft. It focuses on strategic growth areas and acts as the “tip of the spear” for new partnerships with our customers. The Technical Sales team is seeking an Industrial AI (IAI) Technical Specialist for the Americas region. 

 

The Industrial AI Technical Specialist (IAI TS) helps drive customer transformation by influencing technical decisionmakers (TDMs) and line-of-business chief officers, demonstrating the value of Microsoft’s first party, third party, and co-innovation solutions from intelligent edge to intelligent cloud. Success in this role leads to strategic multi-year investments from customers. 

 

In this role, you will understand relevant use cases across design, manufacturing, service, and supply chain scenarios especially in manufacturing, healthcare, consumer goods and energy industries. Building a rapport with customer C-Suite and TDMs is crucial. You will have exceptional communication skills to build relationships across Microsoft teams and customers, connect compelling events to feasible solutions and communicate feedback to Industry Solutions Engineering and Product Development teams. They provide insights into market trends and product opportunities, helping develop a deep understanding of IAI technologies. 

 

This role is flexible in that you can work up to 100% from home. This role is in the United States. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
    • OR Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
    • OR Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years developing and delivering customer reference and solution architectures for large enterprise environments.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated technical solution selling to decision makers especially in supply chain, manufacturing, energy and retail/consumer products line-of-businesses 
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft data estate and governance platforms (Microsoft Fabric, Purview), Adaptive cloud solutions (Such as Azure IoT Operations, Azure Arc), Cloud Visualization and Simulation (Such as Digital Twins and Immersive Remote Operations).
  • Familiarity with Data integration and real-time data integration practices, generative AI capabilities (large language models [LLMs] , small language models [SLMs] and Cognitive Models), and advanced analytics.
  • Certification in relevant technologies or disciplines (e.g., Office 365, Power BI, Azure Architect and Development exams, Cloud Platform Technologies, Information Security, Architecture) 
  • Experience managing technical engagement from qualification to closing of the sale cycle. 
  • Comfortable with multiple projects at once, able to prioritize and manage through ambiguity and achieve business results. 
  • Technical / Market intelligence and customer insight to determine larger value opportunities 
  • Experience navigating complex business challenges in ambiguous settings with solid judgment and risk management 

Technology Specialists IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $103,800 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,700 - $219,200 per year.
