Role and Responsibilities 

Reporting to the Head of Digital DevOps, the Senior Manager of Digital DevOps will play a critical role in driving innovation and growth for the Banking Solutions business. In a leadership role in the Digital Technology organization, you will be responsible for transforming our talent and driving the development and implementation of next generation digital products. With a focus on digital software pipelines and deployments, you will collaborate closely with product leaders, and other stakeholders to align product milestones and deliver innovative digital applications and experiences. In this role, the candidate will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the companys digital transformation journey, drive customer-centric innovation, and position the organization as a leader in the competitive digital banking landscape. Specifically responsible for the following: 

 

  • Partnering closely with the broader Digital Engineering organization, and Banking product organization to define and deliver a modern, scalable, DevOps platform as the backbone for next generation solutions that will drive the digital products into faster and higher quality releases. 

  • Focusing the team on enablement as opposed to ownership of pipelines, shifting the engineering culture towards a “you build it, you run it” model backed by the shared capabilities being developed by the new DevOps platform team. 

  • Leading and mentoring a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and engineering excellence. This includes identifying and attracting high-quality talent, as well as upskilling the existing team. 

  • Keeping up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in the DevOps space, bringing innovative ideas and best practices to drive continuous improvement. 

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and manage dependencies in the digital roadmap, prioritizing key foundational features and enhancements that align with the companys vision. 

  • Participating in discussions with clients and customers to gather feedback and ensure that digital products meet their requirements and expectations. 

 

Charter 

  • Assist in the development of the overall Digital DevOps strategy, analyze current CI/CD pipeline tools and capabilities against the strategy, and define roadmap of enhancements to fully automate the path to production for all Digital products. 

  • Oversee all aspects of Digital DevOps, driving an engineering mindset into how infrastructure, security and operations are approached, across the SDLC 

  • Continue to support the existing Digital CI/CD pipelines while migrating to new target state technology and ownership models incrementally. 

  • Partner with wider technology organization to define and enable public cloud services with IaC, ensuring automated governance of public cloud usage. 

  • Partner with Site Reliability Engineering to ensure applications are designed for scalability and reliability, and implement pipelines to handle all non-functional requirements, including disaster recovery. 

  • Research and evaluate modern technologies and tools to improve DevOps processes. 

  • Recruit, develop and lead a team of DevOps experts to deliver all Digital goals and eliminate friction in the delivery of Digital products. 

 

 

Professional Qualifications 

  • 7+ years of Software Engineering experience, with multiple years of leadership experience building high-performance, best in class engineering teams in a high-growth software product environment. 

  • In-depth DevSecOps experience automating the path to production for high-volume Digital products and applications, ideally in “you build it, you run it” model. 

  • Experience using GitHub/Actions to modernize and align application pipelines. 

  • Experience in analyzing existing pipelines and tools selections and setting migration plans ro unify on a single toolset. 

  • Strong track-record of building out market leading consumer facing Digital products, on-time and with quality. 

  • Deep technical knowledge of DevSecOps technologies, frameworks, pipelines, and tooling. 

  • Proven track record of hiring, managing, mentoring, and retaining top-performing quality engineering professionals, and inspiring and leading engineering teams. 

  • Deep understanding and commitment to software engineering principles and processes (e.g., Lean, Agile, DevOps) and continuous improvement through measurement. 

  • Deep understanding of security and compliance for managing data, ideally in a regulated industry. 

  • Experience across a wide range of technologies, some of which may include: 

  • CI/CD Pipeline Orchestration using GitHub/Actions 

  • Configuration Management with tools such as Puppet and Ansible 

  • Public Cloud services and pipelines, including AWS 

  • NPM, Yarn, and JFrog 

  • Containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes 

  • Akamai, WebSphere, Tomcat, JBoss, Kafka, ESB, IIS 

  • Adept in the use of Linux, Command Line, Git, Vagrant, and CI 

  • Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, Open Tracing, and other observability tools 

  • Preferred degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar relevant field preferred 

  • Excellent communicator, highly innovative with a low ego, capable of motivating and energizing direct reports and peers, with a proven ability to create a highly collaborative working environment.

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $111,410.00 - $187,180.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay.
