Job DescriptionCiti continues to enhance its business control and governance framework by building out Institutional Credit Management (ICM), a first line of defense business line, to house and consistently manage credit risk activities performed for Citi’s institutional clients. ICM’s objective is to provide integrated end-to-end credit underwriting, identification, measurement, management, and monitoring for wholesale credit across the enterprise. Within ICM, the Credit Underwriting function (“ICM UW” or “UW”) provides credit analysis, underwriting, and first line of defense credit approval for periodic / material transaction reviews, and any necessary subsequent credit monitoring across all institutional business including Corporate Banking, Services, and Markets relationships.ICM Underwriters manage a portfolio of relationships across the North American Energy Industries, being responsible for the continuous monitoring of that portfolio. That includes the production of annual reviews, quarterly reviews, and the support of ad-hoc transactions and portfolio &amp; industry reviews and stress testing, in partnership with Corporate Banking and Risk.Key ResponsibilitiesExecutes, aligned with global and regional strategies, all responsibilities regarding underwriting, including, but not limited to:<ul><li>Adoption of leading practices in credit analysis, underwriting, and monitoring, including the end-to-end underwriting process, from early origination discussions to development of credit approval memos</li><li>Drafting of Credit Approval Memo (CAM) packages including but not limited to ensuring they are complete and accurate</li><li>Conducting initial financial analysis, due diligence, projection modeling, stress testing, risk ratings and other in-depth analysis</li><li>Support relationships with key stakeholders in Banking and Risk and with key Regulators, Internal Audit, and control functions</li><li>Support ICM Underwriting organization on strategic initiatives /projects as required</li></ul>Risk Management Experience:<ul><li>Experience in and exposure to global credit risk management standards</li><li>Ability to understand financing and product structures</li><li>Ability to assess financial and industry data to conduct credit assessment</li><li>Able to discuss and address issues associated with the allocation of risk assets and risk capital in partnership with stakeholders and product organizations.</li></ul>Client Relationships / Business Partnership:<ul><li>Ability to understand nuances of local markets, local regulation, and the capabilities and practices of competitors</li><li>Navigates organizational complexity and breaks silos</li><li>Creates and sustains a network of strong partnerships with the business in all segments &amp; geographies and other risk functions</li><li>Provides well-reasoned, balanced assessments of risk/return trade-offs associated with transactions and client relationships</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>5-8 years relevant experience</li><li>Experience in effectively engaging with various functions</li><li>Demonstrates strong ethics and integrity</li><li>Ability to understand the ‘big picture’ in a complex environment</li><li>Strong verbal &amp; written communication skills.
