Fellows are assigned to teams and become experts in digital storytelling. They produce real work that is distributed to our audience of millions, and by the end of six months, they are prepared for the next phase of their journalism careers. This paid role requires you to work for 40 hours a week. Fellowships can be hybrid, and we expect New York-based fellows to come into our offices at least twice per week.</p> <p><strong>The Role &amp; Team:</strong></p> <p>The fellow in this role will spend their time creating original and creative animations across our shows.</p> <p>Our videos cover a range of subjects, including food, travel, design, art, beauty, and more. Candidates should be familiar with our existing videos and eager to contribute work in our style. They will work closely with videographers and producers to create videos for a wide audience across the web and various social media platforms including Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Reels. </p> <p>This role reports directly to the Head of Video Operations and sits on the larger video team.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Quickly execute visually engaging animations that elevate our videos, which will be shared across platforms</li> <li>Identify and create relevant graphics such as graphs, maps, text elements, motion graphics templates, backgrounds, and more</li> <li>Collaborate with the larger news team on pre-production, production, and post-production workflows</li> <li>Possess strong skills in Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects.
