JOB TITLE: Professional-System Engineer

JOB LOCATION: 208 S. Akard Street Dallas, TX 75202 [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home]

           

DUTIES: Translate the core architecture for business requirements into the final technical solution (consisting of platform, network, software, cloud, etc.) through functional, performance, and reliability analysis using engineering models and techniques, primarily through software development throughout the vertical stack. Define designs and provide technical enablement for application components and subsystems for an Application(s). Drive important design decisions for development team. Support quality assurance responsibilities for product flows, working closely with staff to define the optimal solution for each issue that may arise and implement in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications. Use testing techniques, design, develop, analyze test plans and strategies, write and execute test cases, and troubleshoot defects for applications. Implement test automation strategies that will enhance test execution, manual test coverage and the consistency of regression testing. Collaborate with Program Managers, Dev leads, Architects to identifying test scenarios for large programs. Develop data and environment strategies utilizing architectural skills and methodology to meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability and security needs. Report defects and follow up on their closure. Analyze test results, report test metrics, prepare and present test reports. Communicate progress proactively and regularly – using various tools and strategies (governance calls, stand-up calls, formal jeopardies, escalations, daily/weekly progress reports, defect metrics collections). Coordinate with teams involving all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle and facilitate certification for production deployment. Write basic SQL/NoSQL queries and using database. Employ automation testing tools and strategy within integrated test environment requiring validation across multiple touchpoint API’s, microservices, email/SMS communications, file feeds, UI components. Employ automation tools for test execution. Employ multi-tier web application architecture, micro-service technologies, Devops model and on-prem/cloud integration. Utilize database and basic sql queries, and experience utilizing monitoring tools for defect triaging and troubleshooting. Utilize SCRUM / Agile, DevOps methodology, E2E/integration, progression and regression testing with focus on e-commerce order processing and backend validation.

REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience in a related occupation writing basic SQL/NoSQL queries and using database; employing automation testing tools and strategy within integrated test environment requiring validation across multiple touchpoint API’s, microservices, email/SMS communications, file feeds, UI components; employing automation tools for test execution; employing multi-tier web application architecture, micro-service technologies, Devops model and on-prem/cloud integration; utilizing database and basic sql queries, and experience utilizing monitoring tools for defect triaging and troubleshooting; and utilizing SCRUM / Agile, DevOps methodology, E2E/integration, progression and regression testing with focus on ecommerce order processing and backend validation.
