Here, you will make an impact by:<ul><li>Concept Generation: Rapidly generating diverse packaging, product, or communication solutions to business and brand challenges with a passionate user-centric mindset.</li><li>Creative Execution: Delivering diverse visual assets for launch, including developing artwork internally, or through agency partners.</li><li>Brand Building: Ensuring adherence to brand design process, guidelines and methodologies to deliver relevant consumer experience that drive brand value.</li><li>Agile Storytelling: Employing lean visualization and prototyping methods to rapidly demonstrate visionary experiences and accelerate team learning. Utilize both digital and analog sketching skills to communicate ideas.</li><li>Cross-functional Collaboration: Actively keeping designers, business stakeholders and agency partners aligned and engaged in the process from initial kick-off to final implementation.</li><li>Budget Management: Overseeing the design/artwork spend for assigned projects, including forecasting and accurate monthly tracking.</li><li>Consumer Connection: Translating research and insights into design strategies and recommendations to drive programs forward into successful commercialization.</li><li>Prioritizing Workload: Balancing priorities across multiple projects based on timeline needs.</li><li>Cultural Insight: Acting as a champion for design with thought leadership inspired by emerging trends, while considering the business value and feasibility of outcomes.</li><li>Functional Leadership: Coaching and mentoring other design team members, using collaboration and creative critiques to elevate the quality of design for our organization.</li></ul>Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and seven (7) years experience identifying and tackling business challenges and bringing design-driven solutions to market.</li></ul>OR<ul><li>Highschool diploma/ GED and ten (10) years consumer design experience in a private, public, government or military environment</li></ul>Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:<ul><li>Design Skills: Strong visualization skills, refined sense of graphics and form, and a passion for storytelling through design.</li><li>Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; MS Office Excel, Powerpoint, Teams.</li><li>Familiar with remote collaboration and cloud-based workflows.</li></ul>Work location:<ul><li>This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.</li></ul>Travel: May include up to 10% domestic or international travelRelocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially.
